the last of the season in fact, went up a canyon and enjoyed some curves with 12+ cars, including - a Ferrari 360 Modena, E36 M3, M5, S/C Taco, 600+ whp Evo 9, 300Z, bunch of STI's and 22B's, and my 350Z. A bit of hooning and some fast driving with a car family is always great, but it ended up being more then that- A biker went off the road at around 100 mph up the road from us, the road in question being closed off up ahead and thus used by practically no one. Lucky for him we were there, we all stopped and ended up putting his bike in the back of a S/C Tacoma who then took him home/ the ER. Pretty epic night. Also, a heads up since the weather is getting cold - Michelin Pilot SS's don't work in the cold, or the cold and wet. I had a great reminder of that at the meet that involved a very sideways 350Z and that's all that needs said on that subject. Included photo isn't of all the cars at this particular meet, but is a previous meet of the same group. A lot of cars pictured weren't there, and alot of cars not pictured were, so pretty big group.

So...the big trucks...do they engage in the spirited driving on twisty roads as well?

Somewhat, they usually don't come to meets but they came to the one pictured. Usuuallyyy the only trucks are the S/C Tacoma, which definitely does spirited driving, and is hilarious, and a GMC ..S10 Sonama who takes photo's.

His is a beautiful car, just got detailed a few days ago too. At todays meet one of us brought out his 360 Modena.. Which I'll take ;) I kept wanting to roll up my windows because it was cold but then I'd here the 360 taking off, or the 600+ hp Evo behind him, or the 300Z's blow off valve, so the windows would stay down.

I was up driving around/at a meet in the mountains this weekend. I saw a motorcyclist who had crashed, a few minutes before at an overlook someone had asked if any of us(the group I was with) had cell service to call 911. We hadn't for awhile and wouldn't for even longer. It was a sickening sight driving by him in the road. But he was moving his arm and talking. Later on a Mini Cooper with full lights and siren went by towards the site.

I don't plan on riding a bike, but to those who do: please wear a full faced helmet and proper gear.

Yeah, we had no cell service either, and like I said no one was using that road, so he's lucky we were up their, he was walking and talking but I'm sure he had injuries (I mean..he went off at over 100, rolled with the bike who knows how many times untill being stopped by a tree). He had full gear at least. Where do you live that a Mini Cooper would have sirens? O.o lol

That was in North Carolina. Near the Tennessee border. Well now that I think about it, I think it had sirens. I had my music up. It had a light bar and lights in the grill. I guess some kind of quick response unit for the mountains?

I strongly recommend the Hankook Ventus V12 as a suitable, more mild weather tire compared to the Pilot SS. The SL600 has a set on, and while they're noticeably different from the Pilot SS tires, I would say they probably do a bit better in the cold. They're both summer tires, and neither are great once it drops below 45F, but the Ventus tires in my experience are still grabbing a little bit better.

Sounds like a pretty fun event though. By me there are a handful of events like that, but mostly people too rich to allow new faces to join them for long.

Hmm, interesting. I'm not sure what we have in the Mountains here, I know where we were isn't to far out of a big city though, so would of been normal cops and ambulance if anyone, but we took care of it, lol. The little Tacoma went from doing a burnout one minute to being backed into a ditch and having 5 guys put a Yamaha R6 in the back of it the next, lol.

Locally for me EMS/First Responders can have light bars in their vehicles, but no sirens I'm aware of. Depending on the area, it may be allowed, if the nearest ambulance is farther away than the nearest EMS crew member.

There's a guy I went to school with for a while who I would always see in the parking garage with a Z06 with a full blue/white light bar in the windshield. Pretty wicked ride, had a roof scoop and everything. Guy would haul ass to respond to accidents, rightfully so. But most of the guys just have pickups with light bars.

We have a few rich members, but we try to keep it a family environment, always their to help each other and just enjoy cars. The only reason people might no longer be a part of the group is if they aren't really active in the group, or cause drama (which we tend to be decent at avoiding) and yeah, it'll be snowing here on Monday, so the Z is going to be garage'd for a while, hoping to get a cover for the Beetle, but I have the Beetle and my newly acquired 88' Yota pickup for the cold weather and snow ahead :P

Interesting, we just have normal cops, lol. Our forces are pretty well funded on cars though, they have all the newest cop vehicles (Caprice's, Charger's, Taurus and Explorer SHO's). We definitely don't have something ad bad ass as a Corvette though.

Maybe it was part of the ambulance company, I don't know who's it was but it was surprising to see. What you guys did was better than the hour plus wait this guy had. There was plenty of traffic on this road but almost all Mustangs, Corvettes, bikes, etc and no trucks that I saw.

The Corvette was the guys personal car. Around here, EMS/First Responders will get a special plate to put either in their windshield, or to mount above or below their front license plate. They also get to put light bars in their cars. EMS will typically also have a small safety kit while fire fighters keep a full suit minus the oxygen tank in their car. It means they don't have to go to the station first, they can go directly to the scene in order to speed up the response time. It's most likely the same in your area, you just don't recognize it. I know a lot of first responders, so I know a fair amount of their stuff, but not all the rules/regulations.

I know there aren't any unusual cars with lights around here for sure, lol, just police, firetrucks, ambulance's and any fire chief vehicles pretty much :P Could very well have the gear with them though in personal cars, I wouldn't know
